Jesus in Your Monday Morning: Finding Him in Everyday Moments
The Big Insight: Jesus didn't just show up on Sundays in the first century, and He doesn't just show up on Sundays in your life today. He's in your Monday morning, your workplace, your relationships, your struggles. You just have to learn to see Him.
The Problem With Sunday-Only Faith
You sit in church on Sunday. You feel moved. You make commitments. "This week will be different," you tell yourself. "I'm going to live out my faith."
Then Monday hits.
Your boss is demanding. Your coworker is difficult. Your family is chaotic. Your to-do list is overwhelming. And suddenly, that Sunday feeling is gone.
Where is Jesus in all this?
He's there. You're just not looking for Him.
Jesus in Your Workplace
Your job isn't separate from your faith. It's where your faith is tested and proven.
When you're facing a difficult coworker: Jesus is teaching you patience and forgiveness. "Love your enemies," He said. That includes the coworker who drives you crazy.
When you're tempted to cut corners or be dishonest: Jesus is calling you to integrity. "Let your yes be yes and your no be no," He taught. Your reputation matters. Your honesty matters.
When you're stressed about money or job security: Jesus is inviting you to trust. "Look at the birds of the air," He said. "Your Father knows what you need."
Your workplace isn't a place to leave your faith at the door. It's where your faith becomes real.
Jesus in Your Relationships
With your spouse: Jesus is teaching you sacrificial love. "Husbands, love your wives as Christ loved the church," Paul wrote. That means putting her needs before your own. It means patience when you're frustrated. It means choosing her even on the hard days.
With your kids: Jesus is teaching you grace. Your kids will mess up. They'll disobey. They'll test your patience. And you get to show them what grace looks like—correction with love, discipline with compassion.
With your friends: Jesus is teaching you loyalty and honesty. Real friendship means telling the truth, even when it's uncomfortable. It means showing up, not just when it's convenient, but when they need you most.
Jesus in Your Struggles
When you're anxious: Jesus is there. "Peace I leave with you," He said. "My peace I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled."
When you're lonely: Jesus is there. "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you," He promised.
When you're ashamed of your past: Jesus is there. He doesn't condemn you. He forgives you. "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!"
When you're doubting: Jesus is there. Even Thomas, who demanded proof, was met with compassion, not judgment. Your doubts don't disqualify you from His love.
Your Week-Long Application Plan
Monday: Jesus at Work
Action: Before work, pray: "Jesus, show me where You are today. Help me see You in my interactions, my challenges, my decisions." Then, throughout the day, notice where you see Him in a moment of patience, an act of honesty, a provision you didn't expect.
Tuesday: Jesus in Relationships
Action: Reach out to someone you care about. Text them, call them, or spend time with them. As you interact, ask yourself: "How can I show Jesus's love in this moment?"
Wednesday: Jesus in Your Struggles
Action: Identify one struggle you're facing right now. Then, find a Bible verse that speaks to it. (Try Bible.com and search for your struggle.) Read it. Meditate on it. Let Jesus speak to you through His Word.
Thursday: Jesus in Your Choices
Action: Make one decision today, big or small, by asking: "What would Jesus do?" Then do it. Notice how it feels to align your choices with His character.
Friday: Jesus in Your Gratitude
Action: Thank Jesus for three specific ways He showed up in your week. Not generic thanks but, specific moments where you saw His hand, His grace, His faithfulness.
Saturday: Jesus in Your Rest
Action: Take time to rest. Jesus took time to rest. Pray, reflect, and let yourself be restored. You can't see Jesus in your life if you're too exhausted to notice.
Sunday: Jesus in Your Worship
Action: Go to church with fresh eyes. Sing like you mean it. Listen like Jesus is speaking directly to you, because He is. Then commit to carrying that presence into your week.
The Truth
Jesus isn't just a Sunday morning experience. He's your constant companion. He's in your Monday morning. He's in your workplace. He's in your relationships. He's in your struggles.
The question isn't whether He's there. The question is: will you look for Him?
Start today. Look for Jesus in one moment. Then look for Him in another. Over time, you'll see Him everywhere. And your faith will stop being something you do on Sunday and start being something you live every day.
Where did you see Jesus this week? Share your story. Your testimony might be exactly what someone needs to hear.
